Monty Python Shows Sell Out In 45 Seconds

The Monty Python reunion show is looking to be the biggest ticket that London has seen since Michael Jackson’s scheduled This is It stand.

Granted, the Pythons are not up to fifty shows yet, but their first one at London’s 02 Arena, set for July 1, sold out in less than 45 seconds so promoters added an additional four shows (July 2 through 5) and those tickets were gone in under a minute.

It appears the group didn’t expect that kind of demand for their return as Eric Idle tweeted “This pretty much took us by surprise, so we are talking about adding more shows. I apologise if you didn’t get seats. We’re working on it.”

According to Roger Friedman at Showbiz411.com, who previously said they would end up doing 100 shows, an additional five London shows are on the way along with one each in New York and Los Angeles.
