A Weekend In The Gardens Prepares New Native Cocktails For November Shows

The native cocktails, one of the big bonuses of the first A Weekend In The Gardens shows, will return with all-new recipes for season two.

The four cocktails have been curated by Shaun Byrne of Good Measure Consultants.

“Following on from the success of the native cocktails at the inaugural event, I wanted to build on this and offer a few different native cocktails,” Shaun says. “I took a long stroll through the Gardens to gather inspiration points. For this event there is quite a floral theme going through the list, which is perfect given we are in the thick of spring.

“Although there are some new cocktails on offer, there is one which remains the same – the Bush Coffee. This was so successful last year, we’d potentially see a riot if we didn’t offer it again! After all, it is Melbourne!”

The November drinks list features:

Bush Coffee
Vodka, wattle seed syrup, cold brew coffee and coconut shavings

Native Spritz
Gin, lemon myrtle & rosella shrub, quinquina, soda and gum leaves

Tiki Roundhouse
Rum, native lime, ginger, soda with fresh pineapple, mint and absinthe

Apple Iced Tea
Whisky, tea, muntrie (native apple) syrup, rhubarb foam and crumbled biscuits

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
