American Idol’s Adam Lambert filled in for his all-time favourite singer at the MTV Europe Music Awards on the weekend. He got to sing with Queen.

Lambert cites Freddie Mercury as his favourite singer.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards, held in Belfast, Lambert performed an eight minute melody featuring ‘The Show Must Go On’, ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’.

The MTV Europe Awards awarded Queen the Global Icon Awards earlier in the night at the event.

Adam tweeted after the show “What an enormous honor to sing w QUEEN! I could feel the spirit of Mercury alive on stage tonight! Thank u Brian and Roger and crew. LOVE”
