Brent, the creative director of SXSW, passed away after suffering a heart attack last August at the age of 52.

The Brent Grulke Tribute will feature The Wild Seeds with Susan Cowsill, Britt Daniel, Alejandro Escovedo, Robin Hitchcock and Adrian Quesada and the Grupo Fantasma horns.

Brent Grulke had been with SXSW since its inception in 1987. In 1994 he became the creative director of the festival and responsible for booking the artists.

Under Brent’s direction, SXSW grew to become the biggest music conference and festival in the world. Each year it attracts over 200,000 music fans and 20,000 delegates from around the world to watch over 2000 artists showcase over a five-day period.

This year, Dave Grohl will be the keynote speaker at SXSW.

SXSW Music 2013 will be held in Austin, Texas from next Tuesday March 12 until Saturday March 17.
