The Weeknd has had a good weeknd in Australia with his album ‘Starboy’ debuting at no 1.

iTunes had The Weeknd in front all week so it was no surprise to see ‘Starboy’ dominating the Australian chart this weeknd but don’t be surprised if it is shortlived.

After a massive week last week for Metallica (Hardwired was the fastest selling album of the year), the Metallica album slipped back by almost 20,000 sales to give The Weeknd enough of a lead to grab this week’s top position.

Next week will also be another story with The Rolling Stones ‘Blue & Lonesome’ dominating sales on Friday but the new Childish Gambino album ‘Awake My Love’ in front today.

The Buble vs Farnham and Newton-John battle is also being won by Michael Buble. His five year old ‘Christmas’ album is outselling the new John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John ‘Friends For Christmas’ by thousands.
