Baker Boy to Receive the Corner Award for 2018

Melbourne’s iconic venue The Corner Hotel has named indigenous hip-hop artist Baker Boy the recipient of its 2018 Corner Award.

21-year Danzal Baker hails from remote Northern Territory. In 2017 he was the winner of triple j Unearthed’s National Indigenous Music Awards. He then released his singles ‘Cloud 9’ and ‘Marryuna’.

In winning the Corner Award Baker Boy joins previous winners Sampa The Great and Cable Ties.

His prize includes the pressing of 150 copies of a limited edition & inch single, $2000 cash, rehearsal time at Bakehouse Studios, $1000 towards art work from Mushroom Publishing, a two week poster run from Plakkit and 50 free t-shirts.
