Barbra Streisand Returns Home To Brooklyn

When Barbra Streisand performed in Brooklyn on Thursday night it was a homecoming show.

Barbara Joan Streisand (she changed the spelling of her name to Barbra when she was 18) was born in Brooklyn in 1942 and went to school at Brooklyn’s Erasmus Hall High School where one of her classmates was Neil Diamond.

Despite her ties with Brooklyn, Barbra’s first hometown show was only in 2012. This show was part of her nine-city American tour showcasing the release of her new album ‘Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway’.

Two of those partners, Patrick Wilson and Jamie Foxx, joined her at her hometown show.
