A statement released to the media today says that the 62-year-old Bee Gees star is continuing to have health issues.

The singer said earlier this month that he was “beating cancer’” but it appears that he is still having to deal with medical problems.

“On Sunday 25 March, Robin Gibb underwent further intestinal surgery,” the statement read.

“He is currently recovering in hospital and therefore, for the time-being, all existing commitments prior to the Titanic Requiem concert, have had to be cancelled.”

The Titanic Requiem is Robin’s first classical work that he wrote with his son R.J.

Robin is set to have the world premiere of the music on April 10 at Central Hall in London where he is also due to debut a new song called ‘Don’t Cry Alone’.

The musician had undergone chemotherapy for the treatment of liver cancer last year. He has had repeated health problems due to a twisted bowel and his brother Maurice died nine years ago from the malady at the age of 53.

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
