Buffalo Springfield Box Released To Mark 50th Anniversary

in News

Buffalo Springfield will release a 50th anniversary box set in June marking 50 years since their final show in 1968.

Buffalo Springfield was Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin. Between 1966 and 1968 Buffalo Springfield released three albums ‘Buffalo Springfield’ (1966), ‘Buffalo Springfield Again’ (1967) and ‘Last Time Around’ (1968).

While the band was never big in its day, it gave grounding to the careers of Neil Young and Stephen Stills, who have continued to work together for the past 50 years, most recently a few weeks ago in Los Angeles for the Light Up The Blues charity event.

Buffalo Springfield played their last gig in Long Beach, California on 5 May, 1968.

In 2000, Neil Young recorded the song Buffalo Springfield Again for his ‘Silver and Gold’ album.

In 2011 the band’s original members Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, and Neil Young reunited for six shows in California, with the lineup completed by Rick Rosas and Joe Vitale. Bass player Bruce Palmer died in 2004. Drummer Dewey Martin in 2009.

The ‘Whats That Sound’ box will be released on 29 June 2018.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
