Casey Kasem’s Dead Body Is Missing

Casey Kasem’s body has gone missing, according to reports out of the USA.

In a story that we didn’t think could get any stranger, reports have surfaced over the last few days that Casey Kasem has not been buried and, now, that his body is missing.

TMZ first reported on the missing body earlier on Friday, saying that it is no longer at the funeral home where it was awaiting an autopsy and burial and that his wife, Jean, may have taken it despite a judge’s order stopping the body from being laid to rest or cremated.

The judge’s ruling was put in place on Wednesday while the Santa Monica Police Department looked into allegations that Jean Kasem, Casey’s wife, had taken the announcer from a Santa Monica nursing home and subjected him to a long, multi-state, car ride that may have led to the bedsores that ultimately led to the infection that took his life.

Jean was responsible for Casey’s body from the time of his death until Wednesday when the judge put the order in place. It is believed that Jean may have gotten word of the decision before it was filed and had removed the body prior to the deadline.

Later on Friday, Casey’s daughter, Kerri Kasem, told the New York Daily News that she believes her step-mother has taken the body out of the country. The Daily News says that Jean had her own autopsy done earlier in the month and was making arrangements to have the body moved to the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home in Montreal, Canada.

As far as Kerri is concerned, her father should not be buried in Canada where he had no ties. She told the Daily News “My stepmother is doing everything to keep my father’s burial a secret so that none of his loved ones can visit. She’s just spiteful, malicious and vindictive.”

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
