Charlie Watts Confirms The Rolling Stones Have An Album In The Can

Charlie Watts has given a rare and revealing interview to NME where he confirmed that there is a new Rolling Stones album in the works but he has no idea if it will ever be released.

“When we did this blues album ‘Blue and Lonesome’, that was in the middle of doing sessions for the new album and we have done another lot again, so we have done three or four of them,” Charlie told NME. “I don’t write the songs and I don’t have the final say of those things. Once we have played them I am not interested really. Mick has to live with them and put his voice on. Keith will sit for hours listening. They wrote them. I don’t know where we are with them. The blues album came out and was released. I don’t know where we are with it. Its if they are happy with it and I don’t know if they are or they’re not”.

Charlie told NME that he was replaceable in The Stones.

“I think if Mick and Keith said (they were leaving) I think we would (disband). If any of the others said it, no. I think they could get another drummer, I think they could get another guitar player. If Daryl didn’t want to do it anymore we’d have a nightmare of a time finding another bass player. Mick and Keith would or could carry on but I think if Mick said I’m retiring I don’t know how we’d do a show with him and without Keith.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
