Last night Melbourne rocked when the friends of Chocolate Starfish guitarist Zoran Romic gathered for the Concert for Zoz.

Zoran discovered he had non-Hodgkins lymphoma right at the time the band had reformed and had scheduled a few gigs. The shows were cancelled and Zoz has been having treatment ever since.

At Trak Nightclub in Melbourne last night, The Badloves, Models, Billy Miller of The Ferrets, Boom Crash Opera, Screaming Jets, Pseudo Echo, David Sterry of Real Life and Chocolate Starfish played.

Zoran regained his Rock God stature as he played through the Chocolate Starfish classic hits like ‘Four Letter Word’, ‘Mountain’ and ‘You’re So Vain’. It was the performance we didn’t get to see at The Corner.

The night had a few surprises too. Billy Miller was backed by Models for his big hit ‘Don’t Fall In Love’. David Sterry joined Pseudo Echo for his global Real Life hit ‘Send Me An Angel’.

The Badloves were back again and opened the show. More hits “Green Limousine’, ‘Lost’. Boom Crash Opera rolled out ‘Hands Up In The Air’ and more hits. Pseudo Echo had plenty to choose from – ‘Don’t Go’, ‘A Beat For You’, ‘Listening’. The Screaming Jets finished up the night.

It was great to see Zoran back onstage last night. Chocolate Starfish played like I have never seen them play before. It was for Zoz. You couldn’t move inside. The venue was at capacity after opening to a queue down Toorak Rd.

Zoran was continuing his treatment today. Money raised from last night’s gig will make it all that more easier for him and his family as he works through this time.
