Singer Christine Anu and comedian Anne Edmonds will take the stage at the 2018 Helpmann Awards in Sydney on Monday night (July 16).
Anu and Edmonds are the latest additions to the Helpmann Awards, which will be broadcast on the ABC from 9:30pm.
Sheppard were announced a few days ago. They will perform their latest song ‘Coming Home’. Music historian Glenn A. Baker has also been revealed as a guest host.
Other newly announced presenters for Helpmann Awards Act II include ballet royalty Marilyn Rowe CBE AMand David McAllister AM, actor Charles Wu, Michael Lynch CBE AO, The Hon Don Harwin MLC, Graeme Russelland musical theatre star Amy Lehpamer. Newly announced performers to be included in the nights entertainment include actor Maggie Dence and the SSO’s concert production of Funny Girl will now also include Broadway and West End star Caroline O’Connor and the inimitable Trevor Ashley.
Special guest presenters also announced today for the Helpmann Awards Act I on Sunday 15 July at Sydney Town Hall, are actor Mitchell Butel, director Neil Armfield AO, musical theatre stars Verity Hunt-Ballard, Matt Lee and Sharon Millerchip, choreographer Kelley Abbey, actor Peter Carroll and musical director Vanessa Scammell and composer Max Lambert. They will join hosts Rhoda Roberts AO and Michael Lynch CBE AO.
The Helpmann Awards Act II will broadcast from the Capitol Theatre on ABC on Monday 16 July at 9.35pm. Highlights from the previous night, Act I, will also be part of the broadcast.
