The Colin Hay story ‘Colin Hay: Waiting For My Real Life’ will premiere at the Melbourne Film Festival in August.

The movie has an impressive cast with Wendie Malk, Mick Fleetwood, Peter Karpin, James Black, Zach Braff, Guy Pearce, Jimeoin, Hugh Jackman, Sia, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian and Grant Lee Philips all having a few words to say about the Men At Work singer.

As the lead singer of Men At Work, Hay was catapulted to global fame with the hit song ‘Down Under’. Men At Work were the first Australian act to have a simultaneous number one album in both the USA and UK with their debut record ‘Business As Usual’.

Men At Work won the Best New Artist Grammy Award in 1983 but by 1986, and after 30 million record sales, the band disintegrated after just three albums. Hay released his first solo album ‘Looking For Jack’ the following year.

Nate Gowtham, the director of the movie, will speak during the Melbourne Film Festival.

‘Colin Hay: Waiting For My Real Life’ will premiere on August 4, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Treasury Theatre in Melbourne. The movie will be screened on August 9, 2015 at 1:30pm at Kino.
