42 years after it was first released the Crosby, Stills & Nash classic ‘Guinnevere’ is getting a spellcheck. One ‘n’ is being dropped on the new version of the album and it will become ‘Guinevere’.

A new limited edition deluxe version of the ‘Crosby, Stills & Nash’ album will be released on December 6 and for the first time they will correct the mistake they made on the original pressing with the correct spelling of the name.

Part of the preparation of the reissue, explains Marshall Blonstein, head of Audio Fidelity “had to do with the ‘n’ in Nash’s song ‘Guinnevere.’ Since 1969, every vinyl, cassette and CD version of the album had it spelled with two n’s. But recently the group decided to take out the [historically inaccurate] extra ‘n.’ So our CD booklet, tray card and even the original LP labels now show the title with just the one ‘n.’”

‘Crosby, Stills & Nash’ was the hit album of the summer of ’69. It featured Graham Nash’s ‘Marrakesh Express’ and Stephen Stills ‘Suite: Judy Blues Eyes’ and stayed on the US chart for 107 weeks.

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
