The Deni Ute Muster won the Gold Festivals and Events award at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards held in Hobart on Monday night.

In a statement Deni Play and the Plains Festival Ltd CEO John Harvie said, “We are absolutely thrilled the Deni Ute Muster has been acknowledged as the fantastic event that it is. The Deniliquin community has worked tirelessly for the last 14 years to create an amazing festival.’

Deni Blues & Roots Festival organisers Michael Chugg and Rob Potts congratulated Harvie for his win. “This is such great news and tops of the exciting news of the Grammy wins of Bonnie Raitt, Zac Brown and Jimmy Cliff from last week’s Grammy Awards,” Chugg said.

The Deni Blues & Roots Festival will be held over the Easter weekend with Chris Isaak, Tony Joe White, Jason Mraz, Bonnie Raitt, Zac Brown Band, Status Quo, Santana, Steve Miller Band and Jimmy Cliff heading to Deniliquin to perform.

The Deni Blues & Roots Festival will be held March 30 and 31 in Deniliquin.
