Edith will be farewelled at the Normanhurst Uniting Church at 2 Buckingham Ave, Normanhurst at midday. At Edith’s request, those attending are asked to wear white or bright colours.

Edith Bliss lost her two-year battle with cancer last week at the age of 52, her daughter Eden tanner announced. On May 3, Eden posted on Facebook, “To Edith’s many loved ones: today the world lost a wonderful mother, a compassionate friend and one hell of a woman. She passed very peacefully early this morning and her infectious spirit will be missed by all. You’re with the angels now, Mum”.

Edith Bliss was one of Australia’s fly-by-night popstars. She grabbed herself a Top 10 hit in 1979 with ‘If Its Love Your Want’ and then immediately changed course to become a television presenter for Simon Townsend’s Wonder World.

It was there she met sound mixer Mark Tanner and the two married and had four children, Eden, Madison, Harrison and Lawson.

Edith’s musical legacy was the one album ‘Sheer Bliss’ in 1980 and the singles ‘If Its Love You Want’, ‘Heart of Stone’ and ‘Two Single Beds’.
