Elvis Costello Sets USA Dates

Elvis Costello has been performing both solo and with a band over the last few years but, this June and July, American audiences will have the chance to see him back with his band, The Impostors.

Starting on June 3, the “Imperial Bedroom and Other Chambers Tour” will visit twenty cities including such majors as Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, with a show that will feature a number of songs from his 1982 album Imperial Bedroom.

Imperial Bedroom was Costello’s seventh album in five years and only the second not produced by Nick Lowe. It was the follow-up to his country covers album, Almost Blue, and actually, has a song with the same name that was not included on the previous album. Unlike that album, Bedroom didn’t have any set song style, instead preferring to sample from a number of genres.

So far, there is no indication that the album will be played in its entirety. It is only said that a number of songs will be featured and that Costello has been working on new arrangements for some of them.
