Skylar Grey’s latest single, ‘C’mon Let Me Ride’, set for release next month, will feature Eminem singing the famous hook from Queen’s ‘Bicycle Race’.

The lead single off her new album, Don’t Look Down, for which Eminem is also the executive producer, is said to be a playful pop tune, which Skylar recently called “an X-rated kids’ song.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Grey said that she learned from the rapper that she can have more fun. “He’s very sarcastic and makes me laugh all the time and there are parts of my attitude I have in person but I’ve never shown in a song. I feel like he showed me I don’t have to be afraid to show that side.”

It is perhaps not surprising then to learn where the idea of including the chorus from ‘Bicycle Race’ came from. “That was an Eminem move. The first time I heard his verse, he had added that part in as well and it made me laugh, so we kept it.”

But it was Skylar who opted to keep his vocals instead of Mercury’s originals. “I love hearing Marshall change his voice like that and just, like, be a character, play a character, so I thought that was funnier, personally.”

The song is apparently meant to be a jab at “overly sexified music, media and the girls who try and imitate it.”

‘C’Mon Let Me Ride’ is expected to be released on 11th December, with Don’t Look Down to follow a few months later.
