Flight Facilities will perform their complete ‘Down To Earth’ album in Melbourne in October with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell (aka Flight Facilities) will the album, some singles and remixes and some newly written orchestral pieces at the one-off show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
“Long before making Clair de lune, we’ve both shared a love for classical music,” said Hugo and James. “Playing alongside an orchestra was almost inconceivable when we started Flight Facilities, but now we’ve been given the chance to collaborate and perform with one of Australia’s greatest.
The opportunity to work with the MSO was too good an opportunity to pass up. “We’re taking on the challenge of reinventing not only the way we approach our live show, but our original pieces of music, too. For us, the opportunity to have Melbourne Symphony Orchestra reinterpret the contemporary as classical, can only be described as ‘a dream come true’,” they said.
Flight Facilities will perform ‘Down To Earth’ with the MSO at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on October 17.
