Five more acts including Flume, Tame Impala and The Presets have been added to the Australian Music Prize (AMP) Shortlist.
Flume
Liz Stringer and Daily Meds have also made the list alongside the previously announced Grand Salvo, Jess Riberiro & The Bone Collectors, Hermitude and Urthboy.
The nine albums competing for the $30,000 prize are:
Flume – Flume
Tame Impala – Lonerism
The Presets – Pacifica
Liz Stringer – Warm In The Darkness
Daily Meds – Happy Daze
Grand Salvo – Slay Me In My Sleep
Jess Ribeirio & The Bone Collectors – My Little River
Urthboy – Smokey’s Talent
Around 300 albums were originally entered for this year’s AMP. They were shortlisted to 71 and then this final 9.

Acts like The Rubens, Alpine, Ball Park Music, Sarah Blasko, Oh Mercy and Paul Kelly all missed out on the final nine despite releasing some brilliant albums in the past year.
The Australian Music Prize was established in 2005 and based on the UK’s Mercury Music Prize.
