For instance, the first album for Devo was going to be produced by David Bowie but Bowie kept delaying because of movie commitments and the job was handed to Brian Eno.

Devo also had a part in a movie. Neil Young invited them to appear in his film ‘Human Highway’. Casale says Neil let him direct the 7 minutes Devo were on the screen.

Gerald also confirms that a movie based on the early days of Devo is still in the works ‘Devo – The Beginning Was The End’ will go ahead if investors are found.

Then there is Casale’s other job, as a video director. He directed Silverchair’s ‘Freak’ video all those years ago.

Devo will be in Australia for A Day On The Green with Simple Minds and The Church in December.
