Gilbert O’Sullivan is about to celebrate fifty years in the music business.

O’Sullivan first signed with April Music in 1967 and released singles for Columbia and Major Minor Records without breaking out nationally. It wasn’t until he signed with MAM that everything came together and he had his first hit in the U.K. with Nothing Rhymed (1970 / #8 U.K.). Two years later, he broke in the U.S. with Alone Again (Naturally) (1972 / #1 U.S. / #3 U.K.) and followed with a long list of hits in both countries.

Last November, Gilbert released the compilation The Essential Collection which included 43 tracks from throughout his career on two CDs.

Beginning March 3, O’Sullivan will be touring across Britain with his “50th Anniversary Tour”, hitting fourteen cities. Check with your local venue for ticket information.
