Gilbert O’Sullivan will perform in Australia for the first time in decades to celebrate his 50th anniversary.

“I am so looking forward to the upcoming concerts in Australia,” Gilbert O’Sullivan said in a statement. “I visited once before some years back for 3 shows but not with a full band. So while it’s been a long time in the making, I hope for all those that are fans of my music we live up to your expectations, and between us all, we have a great tour. Here’s to March 2018!”

Gilbert O’Sullivan released his first single ‘Disappear’ in December 1967 but it wasn’t until 1972’s ‘Alone Again (Naturally)’ when he achieved international fame.

O’Sullivan went on to have a string of hits in the 70s including ‘Ooh Wakka Doo Wakka Day’, ‘Clair’, ‘Get Down’ and Ooh Baby’.

Diana Krall & Michael Buble recorded a version of ‘Alone Again (Naturally) for Diana’s ‘Wallflower’ album in 2015.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
