Giorgio Moroder will feature two Australians on his new album. Kylie Minogue and Sia will both feature on ’74 is the new 24′.

Giorgio Moroder is credited with creating electronic disco with the pioneering I Feel Love by Donna Summer, a precursor to today’s EDM. He went on to win an Academy Award for the score of 1979’s movie Midnight Express and went on to work on such films as American Gigolo, The Never Ending Story and Top Gun. Two years ago, he returned with the track Giorgio by Moroder on the Grammy winning Album of the Year Random Access Memory by Daft Punk.

Under his own name, Moroder has been releasing albums since the late-60’s and scored a number of dance hits in the U.S. during the 70’s with songs like From Here to Eternity (1977 / #2 Dance) and Chase from the Midnight Express soundtrack (2000 / #1 Dance).

Moroder has signed a worldwide deal with Sony/RCA for a new album in the spring that will include performances by such modern artists as Britney Spears, Charli XCX, Sia, Mikky Ekko and Foxes along with veteran Kylie Minogue.

Giorgio said in a statement “Sony/RCA constitutes one of the most groundbreaking histories in the world. As my new label, I believe my record will live up to their history, but more importantly, pave the way for the future! Sony from here to eternity.”

Moroder released a video for the album track 74 is the New 24 on Monday, saying “Dance music doesn’t care where you live. It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if your 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!”
