At the time of this story, the video was registering 200,593,971 views.

Combine that with the Canadian cover by Walk Off The Earth, you can add an extra 103,758,948 views putting the song over the 300 million mark.

Gotye uploaded his video to YouTube 10 months ago and the Walk Off The Earth cover has been live for four months.

The Gotye song also topped the US Billboard chart and has sold over 6 million downloads worldwide. It has been number one in 16 countries and was the biggest selling Australian song of 2011.

‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has also been given the Glee and American Idol treatments.

Gotye is still more than half a billion views away from the most viewed video ever, ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber feat. Ludacris. As of today, that has done 734,816,796 views. However the Bieber video has been on YouTube for two years.
