Guns n Roses Kick Off Australia and New Zealand Tour

by Paul Cashmere on February 6, 2017

in News

Guns N Roses Australian and New Zealand tour is finally underway with the first dates in New Zealand now ticked off the list.

The Not In Your Lifetime down under dates started in Wellington, New Zealand on 2 February. Guns N Roses then played Auckland on Feb 4.

Wolfmother opened for both dates.

The tour sees Axl Roses and Slash together in Australia for the first time since 1993.

The setlist features a healthy dose of the ‘Chinese Democracy’ album, the album Slash did not play on. Gunners have also been doing a few tasty covers including The Who’s ‘The Seeker’ and Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’.

The Guns N Roses line-up features founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan. Dizzy Reed joined the band the Use Your Illusion albums. The band is rounded out with Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer from the Chinese Democracy days and Melissa Reese, who joined in 2016 for this tour

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
