6PR shock jock Howard Sattler has been sacked from his radio station 6PR after asking the Australian Prime Minister in a live to air interview with her partner was “gay”.

Sattler asked the homophobic question to the Prime Minister in the context of it being a “popular rumour”.

“You know, to all the hairdressers out there, including the men who are listening, I don’t think in life one can actually look at a whole profession full of different human beings and say ‘Gee we know something about every one of those human beings’, I mean, it’s absurd isn’t it?” the Prime Minister replied.
Sattler didn’t let up at that. “You can confirm that he’s not?,” he continued.

Sattler was suspended pending an international inquiry after his broadcast. This afternoon 6PR announced that they have now sacked the offensive presenter.

6PR is part of the Fairfax Network. Sattler’s profile has already been taken off the 6PR website.
