Hüsker Dü Tease Reunion

One of Minnesota’s most famous exports (if you don’t count Prince), Hüsker Dü, are starting to talk again and fans are hoping a reunion may be on the horizon.

The band, which was founded in 1979, recorded five albums before breaking up in 1987 after a disagreement between members Bob Mould and Grant Hart. There has been no love lost between the two over the years; however, a brand new official merchandise site and comments from the third member of the band, Greg Norton, to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, is pointing towards a possible reconciliation.

The three ex-bandmates agreed on the new merchandise site which Norton said would “help us figure out how to get a foothold back in the business.” They’ve also worked on licensing issues for their music and there is a plan for an official Facebook page in the near future.

Then there is actually the question of a full reunion. Bob Mould would possibly be the holdout as he has a successful solo career, but Norton says “There are more moving parts than we’d like to deal with, but we’ll see what happens. The main thing is, there’s ongoing communication between the three of us now.”
