Apple’s new iPhone7 has made its debut and as usual is a talking point worldwide.
While being today’s biggest Rock Star, the new iPhone has left consumers divided with its new headphones. While the headphones (called AirPodsO for iPhone7 will connect wirelessly via Bluetooth if you choose to use your old headphones they will need to connect through the charging port with an adapter.
Apple is evolving the phone by eliminating the headphone jack to add an extra speaker and a larger battery. While the long-term benefit is an improvement to the functionality, the short-term pain is felt for iPhone users with their own headsets. Popular noise-cancelling headsets by Bose, Sennheiser etc or for those who choose to plug-in a headset instead of using Bluetooth will not be able to charge and listen to music at the same time when the headphones are plugged as they use the same Lightning port as the charger.
The iPhone7 will also come with the new headphones (named AirPods) included and an adapter for older headsets,
The iPhone7 will be available for pre-order tomorrow (September 9) and delivered from September 16.
Australian Telcos are yet to announce their plans for the new phones.
