Iron And Wine Announce Australian Tour For April

in News

Already announced in the first round of acts for Bluesfest, Handsome Tours have just announced that Iron and Wine will be playing two special theatre shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
The shows are to be held  at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on April 22nd and at the Sydney Opera House the following evening.

Iron and Wine have enjoyed great success here in Australia, from their very first album ‘The Creek Drank The Cradle’ to their most recent ‘Ghost On Ghost’ album. The latter has a different vibe to their previous four albums, with hints of ’60s soul and ’70s classic rock with prevalent horn sections throughout the album. While it definitely embodies a more retro feel, it is still rooted in the now but a natural extension of their catalogue.

Following their sellout tour in 2009, tickets to these shows will no doubt fly out the door, so you had better be quick. After wowing overseas crowds with their new live show, Iron and Wine are primed to blow our minds come April.

Tickets for the shows are on sale from 9am, Friday the 20th of September.
Handsome Tours pre sale for the Melbourne show begins at 9am on Wednesday the 18th of September.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.
