Guitarist Brian May has told The Daily Star that he and drummer Roger Taylor are going through the archives looking for tapes of unreleased songs Freddie and Queen were working on before Freddie’s death in 1991.

May says there are enough parts from unused studio recordings to release a brand new Queen album with Freddie. “The songs are there. It’s just a question of finding time to get the right production,” he said.

May also says he is working on an update of the Queen musical ‘We Will Rock You’. The musical is coming up to its 10th anniversary. It premiered in London on May 14, 2002 and is still running at the Dominion Theatre where it began.

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
