Jack Bruce Memorial Planned For Wednesday

The late Jack Bruce will be remembered during a private funeral service this Wednesday in London.

Bruce, who died on October 25 from liver disease at his home in Suffolk, England. Tributes have poured in from artists around the world in the days since his passing.

Jack’s family posted the following note on his official webpage on Monday thanking those who have sent messages over the past week and to announce his private funeral. It ends with a touching verse from the song Field of Forever, a track from Bruce’s final album, Silver Rails.

Jack Bruce’s family would like to thank everyone for the kind words and messages from around the world with friends and fans sharing in their grief. Jack’s private funeral will be held on Wednesday 5th November at 10am, Golders Green Crematorium, London. Jack always loved a good audience, so fans are welcome to cheer his arrival at the final ‘gig’.

If people wish to send flowers, the family request fair trade or British flowers or a donation in Jack’s memory to his chosen charity East Anglian Children’s Hospice.

Bruce was a member of Cream, Blues Incorporated, the Graham Bond Organization, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Manfred Mann, West, Bruce & Laing along with his own lengthy solo career.
