Jackson Family To Appeal Failed Case Against AEG Live

Katherine Jackson has reportedly “vowed” to appeal court case against AEG Live over Michael Jackson’s death.

The concert promoting giant was cleared earlier this month of wrongdoing in Jackson’s 2009 death.

The matriarch’s lawyers said after the verdict was announced they would “consider further legal options” and a source now tells UK newspaper The Mirror they plan to appeal.

“Jackson’s mother Katherine, 82, and his children Prince, 16, and Paris, 15, have vowed: ‘We won’t give up fighting for justice,'” the outlet reports.

Tom Mesereau, who successfully defended Michael in his 2005 child molestation trial, appeared to back up the claim.

“I spoke to them. They are going to appeal,” he is quoted saying.

Katherine filed suit against AEG in 2010 on behalf of herself and her son’s three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, 11.

She accused executives at the firm of acting negligently by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to provide care for the singer during his ill-fated This Is It concert series in London.

Murray is currently serving a four-year sentence at the Los Angeles County men’s jail for involuntary manslaughter after a court found he administered the fatal dose of anaesthetic propofol to Michael as a sleep aid.

Mesereau is said to have also taken aim at Murray. The doctor is in the process of an appeal and is scheduled for early release later this month.

“Unless he tries to change his attitude I have contempt for him. I hope he admits responsibility, but I doubt it,” he said.
