Jason Mraz Will Tour Australia A Week After The US Election

Jason Mraz will team up with James Blunt to perform shows for A Day On The Green shows plus a few arenas in Australia in 2020 just one week after the American election.

Jason says he will also have new music before he comes to Australia. “I haven’t broken this new to anyone yet worldwide,” he tells Noise11.com. “Its more upbeat, positive music that’s danceable and timely. It is very impactable for 2020, which in the US is a very important year. It is an election year”.

Jason’s next album will reflect the current state of the USA. “I am hoping (and tooting my own horn), I am hoping I have made an album that supports the revolution,” he says.

Jason supports Bernie Sanders. “I am hoping it works out. He is a longshot,” Jason says. “He has tried before. A lot of people think he is too old. Of the whole Democratic brand he is the one who has been doing it the longest. He is the one that has been the champion for all these ideals. I am on his team. These are the primaries. If he doesn’t make it on the ticket, I will support whoever is running against Donald Trump. I do hope it is Senator Sanders”.

Jason isn’t confident Trump will be removed even if he is impeached. “He is in the process of impeachment now. If he gets booted it is a longshot,” says Jason. “I am shocked at how the United States senate, which is led by the Republican Party, is putting their party first. They are not thinking of America. I guess that’s what parties do. Its leaving a lot of people out and that’s not what makes a great country. Its not what makes a great planet. A country is diverse, a planet is diverse. For everyone to win, everyone has to be included. Unfortunately, there is a lot of separation happening right now and I fear the Senate might give him a stay”.

Jason and James will begin their Australian tour on November 12, the week after the US election. “There is definitely going to be some dialogue about whoever the winner is,” he says. “I’m not going to put it in my show. I’m there to serve a higher purpose. I’m not looking forward to bringing my politics to Australia. In fact, I see the Australian tour as an opportunity to have a vacation from all the chaos that is happening in the US. I am looking forward to coming down, putting on my sunnies, and playing some happy, hippy songs for the Australian audiences”.
