The 2014 Australian Jazz Bell Awards will be announced in Melbourne on May 1 and the nominees have now been officially announced.

Seven category awards feature the diversity of Australian Jazz. The Australian Jazz Bell Awards differ from other awards shows by recognising the different styles of jazz in Australia.

The annual awards are voted on by an expert jazz panel featuring Albert Dadon, Rob Burke, Adrian Jackson, Gerry Koster, John McBeath,  Laurence Donohue-Greene, Martin Jackson, Michael Tortoni, and John Shand.

The Australian Jazz Bell Awards were named after Australian jazz heart Graeme Bell. Every year the awards induct of Australia’s greatest jazz stars into the Graeme Bell Hall of Fame in recognition of an outstanding career. The 2014 inductee will be announced on the night.

The 2014 Australian Jazz Bell Awards will be hosted by Tracey Curro,  at the Regent Theatre Ballroom in Melbourne on Thursday 1 May.
