John Paul Young Receives Queen’s Honour For Charity Work

Australian pop star John Paul Young, best known for his hit ‘Love Is In The Air, has been named in this year’s Queen’s Honours List.

John was named under his real name John Inglis Young received “for service to the performing arts as a singer and songwriter, and through support for a range of charitable organisations”.

He has been given the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for his work.

In a statement, John Paul Young said, “I give my time when I can to assist many charities and not-for-profit organisations, but this is a small contribution compared to the enormous amount of unpaid work volunteers undertake for the good of their communities and society in Australia.”

APRA CEO Brett Cottle and Australian entertainer Rolf Harris also received Queen’s honours today.
