Johnny Marr Australian And New Zealand Tour Postponed

by Paul Cashmere on January 16, 2015

in Live,News

Johnny Marr has postponed his Australian and New Zealand after cancelling North American dates recently.

In a statement Marr advised, “I’m really disappointed to not be able to play these shows. The touring has been so enjoyable for me and the band and the audiences have been great everywhere. If it was about just me just being unwell I would have found a way to continue as I did when I broke my hand last year, but to not be there for one of my family is not right. Thank you to everyone for the kind messages. See you soon. Johnny. X”

US dates were cancelled in December.

Marr’s Au and NZ promoter Frontier Touring added, “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Revised dates are close to being rescheduled and will be announced as soon as possible. If the new dates are not suitable, rest assured ticketholders will be able to secure a refund”.

Fans with tickets are advised to hold them until the new dates are announced or you can request a refund now. “While we encourage fans to hold on to their tickets, the option to secure a refund is now available to you via the official ticketing agency you purchased from,” Frontier stated.

Updates on the rescheduling of Johnny Marr’s AUS/NZ tour dates will be made available via frontiertouring.com/johnnymarr and facebook.com/frontiertouring once confirmed.

Kraftwerk Beam Down Into Melbourne Captain’s Log Stardate 0812230830pm #REVIEW

I wasn’t quite prepared for the “strap in and enjoy the ride’ experience of Kraftwerk. I hadn’t seen them live since the Big Day Out of 2003. It was still light when they came in, in the tent (not the outdoor stage) and they were wearing suits. Someone at the time commented that it was like watching four businessmen in the Qantas Club sending emails to each other.

At one point Jackson Browne commented how he “doesn’t think of himself as 75 and doesn’t think of his beard as grey” but that is what a lifetime of success will do to you. For many people in the room (including myself) who started the Jackson Browne journey with his first album in 1972, this show delivered a deep dive across the entire career.

Paul McCartney Is Getting Better All The Time At Most Likely His Last Ever Melbourne Show #Review

The Beatles played six concerts in Melbourne on that one and only Australian tour of 1964, two shows each on the 15, 16 and 17th of June. The next time Paul was in Melbourne was for two Wings concerts on 13 and 14 November, 1975. There were two MCG concerts on 9 and 10 March, 1993, and two AAMI Park shows on 6 and 7 December, 2017. 21 October, 2023 at Marvel Stadium was special. It was the 13th and most likely the last time Sir Paul McCartney will ever perform in Melbourne, Australia.
