The singer was performing at the Johannesburg’s Soccer City stadium in South Africa Sunday. After the show a gang of marauders broke into a strongroom, according to BBC News.

The thieves were reportedly armed with ropes, hammers and chisels and made off with more than one million rand, or $109,000.

The cash included stadium earnings from Justin’s concert as well as from a previous show by Bon Jovi.

Local reports indicate authorities only learned the money was missing Monday morning.

South African police spokeswoman Katlego Mogale told the outlet the suspects are believed to have gained access through the roof. They slipped in undetected between Sunday night and Monday when the heist was discovered.

“The money was taken from the building and they only realised today. We don’t know how many people were involved as we are still gathering evidence,’ Mogale, a police officer from Booysens police station in Soweto, said.

Justin is currently on his Believe world tour, which will wrap up in the US in August.

The trek has been marred by controversy.

Justin arrived a reported two hours late for a concert in London, UK, and apologised to his fans after collapsing on stage several days later.

He was then slammed for attempting to smuggle a pet capuchin monkey through customs in Germany. The primate was seized after Justin failed to secure proper paperwork and remains in quarantine in the country.

Marijuana was also found on his tour bus in Sweden during a police search last month.

A spokesperson for the singer has yet to comment on the latest incident.
