Kasabian want to write a song with Jack White.

The ‘Re-Wired’ rockers – who headlined the Reading and Leeds Festivals at the weekend – single out the former White Stripes man as one of the only people they can see themselves collaborating with.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno said: “We like to do our own thing most of the time but there’s one person I can see me working with and that’s Jack White.

“I respect Jack, and in some way, shape or form we’d love to kick around in the studio with him.”

Jack has this year released his debut solo album, ‘Blunderbuss’, and also runs his own Third Man studio and record label in Nashville, Tennessee. If he does work with Kasabian, Jack could help boost their US profile even further, something they are eager to do after fourth album, ‘Velociraptor!’, proved a hit.

Serge added: “We hit a new level this year in America, something I didn’t think existed.

“It feel like it’s time for Americans to dig British rock again.”

While Jack could work with the band – which also includes Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Jay Mehler – on a track, he’s unlikely to produce a whole album, as main songwriter Serge is confident doing it himself.

He told The Daily Star newspaper: “I’ve been lucky because I’ve produced all the records. I’m always on the look-out for people I can learn from, but I’ve kinda got the Kasabian sound down.”
