The CBE, or Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, is the third of five classes of honors that are bestowed by the Queen twice per year. Bush’s was awarded for her service to the music industry.

Kate went on her official site, Fish People, to thank everyone including her loyal fans.

I feel incredibly thrilled to receive this honour which I share with my family, friends and fellow musicians and everyone who has been such an important part of it all.

Now I’ve got something really special to put on top of the Christmas tree.

The ‘everyone’ in the quote above of course includes all of you. Thank you so very much for all your fantastic support and encouragement. I feel extremely privileged to still have an audience. It’s you that have made my work, which would otherwise have just been creative projects, into a success.

Many, many thanks to the best fans ever,

Kate x

PS I hate the term ‘fans’ but couldn’t think of how else to word it.

Bush’s last album, 50 Words For Snow, was released in 2011.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
