Kelly Osbourne Approves Of New Melissa Rivers Gig

Kelly Osbourne said Melissa Rivers co-hosting Fashion Police should have happened ‘from day one’.

It was announced earlier this month that Melissa would be following in the footsteps of her late mother Joan by presenting the programme.

Now Kelly, who quit the show in February, has come forward to insist Melissa’s new appointment couldn’t be more richly deserved.

‘This is what should have happened from day one. Melissa should always have been there,’ Kelly told People magazine.
Following Joan’s tragic death in September 2014, Kathy Griffin joined Fashion Police as its main anchor.

However, the comedienne left after just a few months saying she didn’t approve of the show’s style of comedy.

Kelly was one of the first people Melissa told about her new role and the 30-year-old was more than a little excited to learn the news.

“It’s the right decision,’ she said. ‘When [Melissa] called me to tell me, I was like screaming, jumping up and down because I’m like, continue the legacy!”

Kelly made the difficult decision to leave the programme after a scandal involving Giuliana Rancic’s comments about Zendaya’s dreadlocked Oscars hair were deemed racist.

But she said that despite Melissa’s new position on the programme, she doesn’t regret her call to leave Fashion Police. And she will always remember her time on the E! series incredibly fondly.

‘I will always, always love, love, love the time I spent working with Joan [Rivers] and George [Kotsiopoulos] and Melissa,” Kelly said. “They’re the most incredible people. They’re still part of my family.”
