The Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett experiment ‘Cheek To Cheek’ will struggle to reach even Gold status (35,000 sales) in Australia.

‘Cheek To Cheek’ debuted at no. 7 in Australia with a poor 4622 sales and dropped to no. 10 with only 2.255 sales this week giving the title a two week total of 6877.

Lady Gaga has a multi-platinum track record in Australia. Her debut ‘The Fame’ was awarded triple platinum status for sales over 210,000. ‘Born This Way’ went double platinum for sales over 140,000 but it all went soar on the third record ‘ArtPop’ which has so far sold less than Gold (35,000) in Australia despite being backed by a tour.

‘Cheek To Cheek’ fared much better in the USA where the album received substantial marketing support. It managed a number one debut and 131,000 sales in America in the first week.

That figure was still half of what ‘ArtPop’ did in America in 2013. ‘ArtPop’ delivered first week sales of 258,000 and eventually sold 725,000 giving it Gold award status.
