The song is available in Australia on Myer’s ‘Spirit of Christmas’ album and you can hear it here at Noise11.com.

“It’s a song about a soldier coming home from the Afghanistan frontline but wishing his mates could join him,” he tells Noise11.com. “It’s not necessarily about Aussies, Brits, or US guys, it’s generally about all who serve there”.
Leo is donating all money raised from the song to charity. “I’m giving away all the UK single proceeds to the charity Help For Heroes. It’s out in Australia on the ‘Spirit Of Christmas’ album,” he said.

‘Coming Home For Christmas’ was recorded at Pony Music Studio in Hallam, Victoria with Leo’s band featuring Mark Kennedy (drums), James Gillard (bass), Bill Risby (keyboards) and Paul Berton (guitars).

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
