Matthew Knowles Set Up Daughter Beyoncé To Win

Beyoncé’s father would have bought her a hospital if she’d wanted to be a doctor.

The super star singer was managed by her dad Mathew Knowles when she was part of Destiny’s Child, but they no longer work together. He continues to encourage her though, something he has done throughout her life.

“When my kids were growing up, their mum (Tina) had the number-one hair salon in Houston and made a million dollars and their dad was the number-one sales rep for the most prestigious corporation in the world,” he told Britain’s Heat magazine. “That’s the environment that they grew up in. Anything they wanted, I made sure they had the tools to be successful. Had one of them said, ‘Dad, I want to be a doctor,’ I would’ve said, ‘Go to medical school. I’ll support you when you graduate; I’d go out and buy a hospital.’ I’d want them to work at the hospital we own.”

Beyoncé’s sister Solange is also a successful recording artist and Mathew is just as proud of what she’s achieved. He laughed off suggestions the pair were born with the “DNA of achievers”, insisting all that’s important to him is that his children are happy. He feels that way about Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams too.
“Solange wrote a lot Destiny’s Child’s biggest hits… she’s a star,” he said. “We also had Kelly living with us from the age of 12 – I’m so proud of them all, and Michelle.”

Although Mathew isn’t involved in Beyoncé’s career anymore he has repeatedly claimed to have the inside track on what she’s planning at the moment. And according to him, that’s a Destiny’s Child reunion involving a new album and a tour with Michelle and Kelly.
