Melbourne Music Week Takes Over Melbourne Town Hall For Miscellanea

As part of Melbourne Music Week, the City of Melbourne and Creative Victoria will present a multi-label takeover of the iconic Melbourne Town Hall, with more than 25 artists performing over three levels of the Melbourne landmark.

HTRK, Underground Lovers,Tyrannamen, Loose Tooth, Taipan Tiger Girls, friendships and CORIN will perform for Miscellanea in collaboration with Melbourne’s own Milk! Records, Wondercore Island, Aarght Records, Heavy Machinery Records and Chapter Music.

The Miscellanea event will utilise the varied spaces of the Melbourne Town Hall. Cr Rohan Leppert, Chair of the City of Melbourne’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Portfolio said in a statement that, “Miscellanea reinforces MMW’s reputation for transforming unique spaces into music venues”.

“Melbourne Music Week highlights how the ongoing collaboration and partnerships between council and the music sector make for a lively, creative city.”

The event is presented in association with Creative Victoria.

Melbourne Music Week was launched in 2010 as part of the City of Melbourne’s music strategy. Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle AC said, “Melbourne Music Week reinforces our city’s reputation as the music capital of Australia. Last year’s festival attracted over 51,000 attendees and contributed $2.6 million economic impact to the municipality,” the Lord Mayor said.

Melbourne Music Week events will take place from 17-25 November. Miscellanea is on 19 November.
