Motorhead To Release Covers Compilation

Along with great original rock, Motorhead also occasionally recorded cover versions of some of their favorite songs.

Some of those covers are being assembled in the new compilation Under Cover, out in September, which includes ten previously released tracks along with a cover of the David Bowie song Heroes.

Heroes was one of the last songs that the band recorded together before Lemmy Kilmister’s death from cancer at the age of 70. Recorded during the Bad Magic sessions, Phil Campbell says “It’s such a great Bowie song, one of his best, and I could only see great things coming out of it from us, and so it proved to be and Lemmy ended up loving our version.”

Mikkey Dee added “He was very, very proud of it, not only because it turned out so well but because it was fun! Which is what projects like this should be – fun!”

The track list:
Breaking the Law (Produced by Cameron Webb) 2008
God Save the Queen (Produced by Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet) 2000
Heroes (Produced by Cameron Webb) 2015
Starstruck (Produced by Cameron Webb) 2014
Cat Scratch Fever (Produced by Peter Solley) 1992
Jumpin’ Jack Flash (Produced by Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet) 2001
Sympathy for the Devil (Produced by Cameron Webb) 2015

Rockaway Beach (Mixed by Cameron Webb) 2002
Shoot ‘Em Down (Produced by Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet) 2001

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
