Motown Yesterday Today Forever Set For Release

The iconic music special, Motown 25: Yesterday-Today-Forever, will be released in new 1, 3 and 6-DVD sets on September 30 via Starvista and Time-Life.

Best known for the first performance by Michael Jackson of his moonwalk, the special also features songs from most of Motown’s biggest artists over the first twenty-five years along with guests like Linda Ronstadt, Jose Feliciano, Adam Ant and Billy Dee Williams. Richard Pryor hosted.

The special was taped at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 25, 1983 and aired on May 16, 1983 on NBC. It went on to win the George Foster Peabody Award and the Emmy for Best Variety Program.

For this new release, three different versions will be available with a variety of new material.
