Zayn Malik is reportedly keen to win Gigi Hadid’s trust by opening up about his relationship history.
Malik and Hadid have caused whispers in the industry as they’ve been spotted out together several times recently, holding hands during an outing in West Hollywood in late November (15). It comes as a shock to many as Gigi had only just split up with her beau Joe Jonas, while Zayn had ended his engagement to Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards in August (15), but insiders insist the former One Direction star is optimistic about their blossoming romance.
“They’ve been seeing each other for a few weeks and both seem to be besotted,” a source told Britain’s Closer magazine. “Zayn wants to win Gigi’s trust. He’s talked to her about his break-up with Perrie and been open about his relationship history.
“Gigi has been surprised about how genuine Zayn seems. They are both planning to see a lot more of each other.”
It’s thought the pair bonded after they both attended Kylie Jenner’s 18th birthday party in August (15), but Gigi was still dating Joe at the time. Although they appear to be smitten, it seems their new relationship isn’t going down well with Perrie. Reports claimed Zayn broke up with her over text – something he denied in an interview with Fader magazine in November (15), where he also claimed he would always have feelings for his ex – and sources close to her say she’s hurt by his behaviour.
“Perrie feels that Zayn should have never said anything about always loving her if he was planning to start a new relationship with someone else,” they told Closer.
Joe is apparently unhappy about the situation too, and has made a subtle move hinting at his annoyance. Fans were quick to notice that he deleted a photo of himself, Zayn and Kanye West taken in Paris in June (15) and captioned ‘squad’ from his Instagram account.
