This was the first public performance for Neil Young & Crazy Horse since Neil announced they had reformed and recorded a new album just a few weeks ago.

The day before Neil introduced Sir Paul McCartney onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame when the former Beatle became the last of his mates to receive a star outside of the Capitol Records building.

Sir Paul opened his MusiCares dinner with a performance of The Beatles’ classic ‘Magical Mystery Tour’. Foo Fighters also performed, playing Paul’s Band On The Run highlight ‘Jet’.

Also performing for the night were Tony Bennett, the cast of Cirque Du Soleil, Coldplay, Duane Eddy, Alicia Keys, Diana Krall, Allison Krauss and Union Station, Norah Jones, Sergio Mendes, Katy Perry and James Taylor.

Sir Paul McCartney is in full-tilt promo mode talking up his new album ‘Kisses On The Bottom’. On Thursday he performed tracks from the album for the world wide web via iTunes with a band featuring Joe Walsh from the Eagles and Diana Krall.
